At Liatris Summer Sessions, kids find their voice and bring their visions to life by writing and recording their own songs. Guided by experienced musician Chessa Rich, campers explore their creative voice through playful writing games, improv sessions, and collaborative exercises that make the process feel approachable and fun. The camp is equipped with a wide range of instruments—guitars, keyboards, percussion—and studio-quality recording gear, giving campers hands-on experience with microphones, digital audio workstations, and multi-track recording. Throughout the week, they experiment with sound, layer tracks, and learn how different elements come together to shape a finished piece.
The philosophy centers on creativity without pressure: mistakes are part of the process, and curiosity is encouraged. Campers build confidence, discover new styles of music, and learn how collaboration can elevate their ideas. With breaks for art and movement to keep energy high, each day balances focus and fun. By the end, every camper leaves with a fully recorded, mixed, and mastered track—plus the pride of bringing their unique musical vision to life.
