1870 Farm

by 1870 Farm

At 1870 Farm Summer Camp, kids unplug from screens and connect with nature, animals, and each other in a joyful farm setting just minutes from Chapel Hill. Each day is filled with discovery as campers care for animals including ponies, pigs, llamas, chickens, and alpacas, harvest fresh veggies from the garden, and discover multiple ecosystems across a historic 17-acre farm. From pickling cucumbers to gemstone mining, building forts to playing gaga ball, the camp day blends purposeful learning with unforgettable fun. Specialized daily activities invite campers to dive into visual arts, nature crafts, outdoor skills, and old-fashioned games. Water play, farm fitness activities, and the ever-popular slushie bike add to the excitement. At the heart of it all is a dedicated team focused on each camper’s emotional and physical well-being. Whether they’re feeding a bunny or creating a nature sculpture, campers are guided by staff who foster independence, teamwork, and joy. With its welcoming atmosphere and one-of-a-kind setting, 1870 Farm is a place where childhood thrives.
