At Poplar & Pine, children tune in to nature, explore their curiosity, and gain skills and confidence through hands-on learning. Located at Belle Vie Farm’s 34 acres of forest and farmland, the camp offers nature-based after school experiences that give kids plenty of space to roam and time to cultivate meaningful connections with each other and their surroundings. Each day at Poplar & Pine promises “dirty hands, authentic experiences, and pockets full of rocks and wonder.” Campers climb trees, hike wooded trails, build shelters, and learn essential Earthskills like plant and animal identification and how to safely and responsibly use knives and tend fires. Art projects—like weaving, wood carving, printmaking, and journaling—are woven into the day, allowing for reflection and creative expression using natural materials. With caring mentors and small group settings, Poplar & Pine supports each child in stretching their boundaries and discovering their strengths while fostering community, self-reliance, and authentic connection to the land.
