Carolina Summer Sailing Camp invites kids to step away from shore and discover the excitement of life on the water. Based at Jordan Lake’s Crosswinds Boating Center, the camp blends hands-on learning with pure outdoor fun, giving young sailors the chance to explore steady breezes, open water, and the thrill of guiding a boat under their own power.
Campers use Optis and 420s as their floating classrooms under the expert guidance of certified instructors who prioritize safety and celebrate every success. Days are spent rigging boats, practicing maneuvers, feeling the wind shift, and mastering new skills. As confidence grows, so does the sense of adventure—whether it’s steering solo for the first time or setting off for friendly races that bring out teamwork and excitement. On land, campers connect with friends, swap stories, and learn the “why” behind how sails and wind work.
