Camp RiverQuest by Haw River Canoe & Kayak Co. connects young people to nature through learning and play. Located in Saxapahaw along the Haw River, campers experience the joy of life down by the river—bonding with riverine ecosystems and new friends as they paddle, float, hike, create, and play. Extensive hiking trails, public-use riverside spaces, and well-maintained paddle access points provide the perfect setting for environmental education, nature crafts, riverside hikes, and watercraft skills. Guided by experienced professional instructors, campers learn to paddle kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards through traditional instruction and on-water games. Rounding out the experience, campers enjoy tubing and free play; learn boat rescue, river safety, river monitoring techniques; and practice plant identification, teamwork skills, and more!
