At Learning Outside, kids dive into the wonders of the natural world through immersive, outdoor-based camps held on a stunning 269-acre nature preserve of forest, fields, and wetlands. Each day is a new adventure filled with hikes, nature games, wildlife discovery, fort building, creek play, and hands-on projects that spark curiosity and creativity.
Campers build shelters from natural materials, tend to animals in the Learning Garden, learn survival skills like fire-building and tracking, and explore ecosystems teeming with life. With themed weeks ranging from wilderness skills to woodland fairy villages, there’s something for every interest and imagination.
Led by experienced naturalists and educators, the organization’s nature camps and after school programs foster a deep connection with the land while emphasizing teamwork, confidence, and joyful exploration. A low 5:1 camper-to-staff ratio ensures each child is seen, supported, and inspired. Learning Outside’s philosophy centers on giving kids the time, space, and freedom to be fully present in nature—playing, learning, and growing in ways that leave lasting impact.
