NC Botanical Garden Camps

by North Carolina Botanical Garden

Camp Flytrap and School’s Out Camps at the North Carolina Botanical Garden center on connecting children to nature through direct experience—helping them build confidence, ask questions, and develop a genuine appreciation for the living world. Set among native plant gardens, shady forest paths, peaceful creek trails, and a state-of-the-art green education center, the camp offers a vibrant outdoor classroom where kids explore and learn through hands-on adventures. With small groups and experienced naturalists guiding the way, campers dive into the wonders of North Carolina’s plants, animals, and ecosystems. Plenty of unhurried time outside encourages observation, imagination, and a sense of belonging in nature. Indoors, inviting learning spaces offer room for experiments, close-up plant study, and thoughtful reflection, while games, stories, and art sessions give children many ways to express what they discover during each exciting day at camp.
