At Belle Vie Farm camps, children enjoy outdoor adventures at a working farm with a mission to create authentic community through connection with nature. Our counselors focus on helping campers learn skills for connecting with new friends, maintaining friendships, creating with art and woodworking materials, developing self-confidence and trust in their own intuition and much more!
Campers learn and practice these skills while adventuring on our 34-acre farm and forest and exploring our indoor Art and Maker Studio! From thrills on the 75-foot zipline, dirt slide, and climbing web to hands-on experiences with gardening, animal care, art, woodworking, and forest hiking, every day offers something new to discover.
Campers take part in a wide variety of activities that highlight both farm life and creative expression. They might gather fresh eggs, plant microgreens, explore silvopastures, or care for goats and chickens before heading indoors to the art studio or makerspace. Creative projects like goat milk soap-making, beeswax candle-pouring, or cooking with fresh farm ingredients give campers a sense of pride in their work, while water play, forest exploration, and free time ensure plenty of fun and friendship. Each week also features special traditions that make Belle Vie unique, including hay rides, gem mining, ice cream or pickle making, archery, and forest play.

Register for weeklong summer camps or single-day teacher workday camps aligned with Chatham County and Chapel Hill-Carrboro City School calendars. A typical TWD camp day runs from 8 AM – 3:30 PM with extended care available until 5:30 PM. Summer camp hours are 8:30am-12:30pm with an extended day to 4:30pm for campers in kindergarten and older.

Staff are a mix of teachers from Belle Vie's school-year programs and seasonal summer counselors. The directors of summer camp are Shelley and Kevin, owners of Belle Vie Farm. Shelley and Kevin love children, animals and being in nature. They are passionate about learning to grow their own food and teaching others to give it a try!
Belle Vie Farm’s mission is to create community by engaging people in regenerative agricultural and nature-based activities. Its vision is to be a change-maker in environmental stewardship by thoughtfully and sustainably nurturing the soil, water, and natural resources through silvopastures and food forests, and by inspiring individuals to follow their own unique path to nature stewardship.
